Role overview

Are you friendly, organised, and passionate about sustainability? We’re looking for a volunteer to help run our weekly sales of refurbished electrical items at the Fixing Factory in Camden.

Our sales keep waste out of landfill, generate vital funds for our charity, and provide affordable, refurbished items to the local community. Your support will help us create a positive shopping experience while driving our mission to reduce waste and promote repair.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Keep the doors open on Saturdays between 10am and 4pm.

  2. Liaise with the Fixing Factory manager to identify items to sell on the day.

  3. Update records in our inventory management.

  4. Record SumUp and cash payments.

  5. Welcome members of the public who attend sales at the Fixing Factory.

  6. Engage with members of the public who wish to buy items.

  7. Follow all Fixing Factory procedures, including our health, safety and safeguarding procedures and attend any training provided by FF (e.g. first-aid, anti-oppression, etc.).

  8. Play an active role in keeping the Fixing Factory a supportive, inspiring and anti-oppressive place to be.

  9. Be a team player - e.g. tea making, skill sharing and washing up.
